Orlando City SC is a professional soccer club based in Orlando, Florida, competing in Major League Soccer (MLS). The club was founded in 2013 and began playing in MLS in 2015 as an expansion team. Known as the "Lions," Orlando City has grown into one of the most passionate and competitive teams in the league.

The team plays its home matches at Exploria Stadium, a soccer-specific venue located in downtown Orlando, which is known for its electrifying atmosphere and dedicated supporters, including the Ruckus and Iron Lion Firm fan groups. The club’s colors—purple, gold, and white—represent its royal and bold identity.

Orlando City's inaugural MLS season in 2015 featured Brazilian superstar Kaká, who was the team's first captain and one of the league’s biggest signings at the time. While the club initially struggled to find consistent success in its early years, it turned a corner in 2020 under head coach Óscar Pareja, securing its first-ever MLS Cup Playoff appearance and reaching the MLS is Back Tournament final.

In 2022, Orlando City won its first major trophy, the U.S. Open Cup, by defeating Sacramento Republic FC. This victory earned the team a spot in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, marking a significant milestone in its history.

Orlando City has developed a reputation for its attacking style of play and commitment to youth development, with a strong pipeline from its academy and its Orlando City B reserve team.

The club shares a deep connection with the city of Orlando and has a growing rivalry with teams like Inter Miami CF and Atlanta United, making it one of the most exciting franchises in MLS. With a passionate fanbase and an ambitious vision, Orlando City continues to establish itself as a force in American soccer.
