Newcastle United

Newcastle United Football Club, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, is one of the most storied clubs in English football, with a passionate fanbase and a rich history. Founded in 1892, Newcastle has experienced both great success and challenging periods. The club’s most successful era came in the early 20th century, with four First Division titles(now the Premier League) and six FA Cups, the most recent being in 1951. Their St. James' Park stadium is one of the most iconic in the country, known for its vibrant atmosphere and loyal supporters, often referred to as the “Toon Army.”

In recent decades, Newcastle has experienced fluctuating fortunes, with spells of relegation to the Championship but also notable top-flight finishes. The club's performance reached a high point in the 1990s, when they finished second in the Premier League in 1996 and 1997 under manager Kevin Keegan, playing an exciting attacking brand of football.

In 2021, the club was taken over by a consortium led by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, bringing new financial backing and raising hopes for a brighter future. Under manager Eddie Howe, Newcastle has shown signs of rejuvenation, with the aim of challenging for European spots and competing with the Premier League’s elite. The club’s future looks promising, with significant investment in both players and infrastructure.
